Mood board + plans for a budget refresh for my little girls’ room.
We made a list of things we wanted to do as a family and individually at the start of the year, and my middle child requested a room makeover. I was happy to oblige. She is sharing with her younger sister right now and their room has been neglected so far. The kitchen reno took most of the year last year, so I’m excited to focus on a few smaller budget renos this year. For their room, I’ve given myself a shoestring budget of $200-$300 dollars max! I want to make a big impact with just paint, a couple of smaller furniture pieces, and maybe a new light.
Currently, their room is a wild Kelly green, and while it is a fun color, my daughter has requested pink walls, yellow curtains, and a flower light! Here is their current room.
Here is my initial mood board. We have chosen the color “Cheery” by Sherwin-Williams and I will be adding in some fun art, as well as finding them some small nightstands.
We already have the rug and the curtains, so aside from paint, I should be able to pull this off fairly cheaply! Follow along on Instagram for all the behind-the-scenes and show any of the room items below for a similar look.
